History of the War in Bosnia
Nowadays, wars have been very frequent in the planet. These may be due to the increasing competition in power, position and supremacy. Other wars that have also arouse from little conflicts and disagreements in beliefs and traditions. On the other hand, others start because of the aggressiveness of some other places conquering their neighboring. For the years that have passed, the benefits as well as the consequences of war have been seen and felt in almost all of the countries including the ones that may have been only victims of wars going on around the globe.
Wars brought about many changes in a place. And most of them can be classified as no good for the losers and also for the winners. Severe losses, like economic decline, destruction and death is not new for the claimers and the victims of war. There are different ways to start wars however, there is only a handful to stop and prevent them. The war in Bosnia had started a long time which resulted to the collapse of Yugoslavia to break down to six major republics and two independent regions.
The individual ethnicity of the places also aided in heating up the tension between the places and the different believers. And because of the difference in the beliefs and the disagreements on whether it is right to create a multi ethnical federal state or the generation of homogenous states, all this contributes to the heat up of war in the place. Negotiation s one of the cheapest but the most decent and humane way of solving conflicts between two rivals is one of the best means onto encouraging truce and lasting harmony between foes.
Though not all negotiations have ended up in the total peace or truce of the opponents, the use of negotiations in ending up the wars and easing down the heat up reduces pressure and the expenses due to the use of warfare mechanisms and apparatus. What is likely in the use of negotiations in ending up wars is the mainly for the reason that the decisions made after the negotiations should be beneficial to both sides of the conflicting teams. If not, then, the use of negotiations is not highly recommendable.
Another case that disagrees on the use of negotiations in ending wars is when the real motive of a rival is really to conquer a place. However, on the case of that in Bosnia, a certain way of making negotiations to easily end the war is to get the main root of the conflict. Basically, the main reason for the existence of the war is due to the ethnic diversity in the place. Therefore, one method in order to end the war in the trouble-free manner is to give to the ethnicity of the people in Yugoslavia.
The decisions that brought out the conflict in the place are mainly due to the creation of the multi ethnical and the homogeneous states. These decisions could not have brought the conflict in to a higher stage if the decision had been beneficial to all of the ethnic groups of the place. However, what would be beneficial to one group may not be beneficial to the other, thus, the methods of separating them into forming individual independents places governed by a homogeneous type of ethnic group is a more likely way of ending the war in a peaceful way.
In this manner of decision making, the biases for the different types of ethnic groups in Yugoslavia has been given and shared one and the same to all the ethnic groups of Yugoslavia. Moreover, giving the ethnic groups the authority and the power to govern and develop their own place and conviction, away and independent from the other rival ethnic groups, a reduction in the conflicts that originates from the diversity in culture and tradition can be easily seen. The world today is in the time of great challenges.
And one of these challenges is the protection of each and every nation from the consequences brought about by the effects of wars. Though the effects are severe and the presence of war in a place depicts loss, death and suffering, simple ways such as negotiation can be very useful in the termination and end stop and prevention of wars and conflicts in the most peaceful and most successful way without engaging the use of firearms and bloodshed in the process.
