Nexus between global warming and natural hazard

Global warming is the increase of temperatures all over the world, due to the increase in greenhouse gases that absorb heat from the sun’s rays. Scientists have proved that global warming is now a real threat to the environment. There are several theories that explain how global warming started. A recent feature on CNN showed that the ice at the earth’s poles is melting at a very high rate and that in future; animals like penguins, polar bears, and seals that are inhabitants of the Polar region may become extinct. It is also said that the toxic gases that we produce such as those with chemicals from factories, smoke from cigarettes and exhaust pipes of cars and many others gases are carried to the earth’s atmosphere and trap the excess heat from the air.

The effects of this are seen in natural disasters such as disease outbreaks and killer ocean waves (Tsunami) among others. Other people have said that these greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer because of the chemicals they contain, leading to increased heat from the sun rays, which in effect contribute to occurrence of natural hazards.
