Microsoft’s Windows and Unix networking, are both operating systems capable of multi-user and multi-processing purposes. However, as compared to Unix, Windows is more popular, widely used and widely-purchased by common consumers. More application software is obviously created by Microsoft to meet the demand of the various consumers. Furthermore, most software developers prefer using Windows for it has the qualities they seek for cheaper cost but reliable and secure servers in which they can easily utilize and develop their web applications and web pages.

Considering the fact that there are only few persons who know how to administer Unix, more people then, prefer to use Windows. For the reason that Windows is more convenient, much affordable, and because Windows has “user-friendly” features, consumers respond that Windows certainly meet their demand and necessity. Up to the present, Windows is increasing its prestige in the computer market. Therefore, Windows is much recommended to use than Unix. Unix and Windows Networking Similarities and Difference of Unix and Windows Networking Unix and Windows Networking are both common operating systems used (OS) for networking in computers.

Windows networking contains features that are also similar to that of Unix and it has versions adapted from the former MS-DOS; although, Windows is much more convenient to use than Unix, by consumers or costumers who does not have any background or experience in advanced and hands-on programming (Benny, 2004).
