Very homely little
Thanks for the loan of your cute and very homely little cabin on such short notice. It was a pretty spontaneous decision on my part but I just had to get away from the rat race for a few days. I had an eventful and exciting weekend and one that I will always remember. I did a lot of lazing around, reading books and walking around the mountains. I bumped into one of your neighbors at the local bar and he invited me to go canoeing with him; I had noticed you had a canoe tied up in the garage so I agreed.
He’s a pretty good guy – a young academic or something – seems very intelligent and friendly, and he was very sincere in wanting to help me feel at home there. I can’t say the same about his wife though. I met her when we returned from the canoeing trip. She looks quite sophisticated but too aloof and formal for my liking. She was very abrupt and obviously didn’t want to spend time talking to a stranger. To be quite honest, I didn’t like her at all. Anyway, I had a great time; the water was quite clear and, as I was to discover, icy cold.
We suddenly came into a fast part in the river and my canoe hit the rocks before I even saw them. I went head first into the water and bumped my head on the rocks – nothing serious just a few bruises. I think my pride was bruised more than my head. The canoe came out worse off than me however, it had a gaping hole in the bottom, so we tied it to Jim’s canoe and he took me back to shore. Don’t worry about your canoe; there’s nothing to be concerned about. I had it fixed and it’s as good as new. You’d never know anything had happened to it.
I spent the next couple of days quietly around the cabin but did a little fishing and visited some of the local attractions. The place is very calming and has a soothing effect on you. I felt very invigorated after the few days there, re-energized and ready to take on the world again. Thanks again Paul. I am extremely grateful for your kindness. I am very lucky to have such a generous and big-hearted friend. I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you. See you soon. I chose the third scenario, wherein I spent a week at a friend’s cabin.Sample Essay of Edusson.com
