Gathering Information Paper
An evaluation system marks the degree of standard, ethics, and large scale moral in performance and communication. It creates a good name for the institution and attracts talent for meeting the high requirements of the industry. It not only evaluates but in turn brings forth a better stage for understanding the inmost chord and enhancement of their talent. The determination of the information gathering for faculty evaluation system is entirely dependent on the system functionalities desired by the educational system. The information sources are as follows: 1. Students
The students form the end product of any educational institute and are truly a reflection of the faculties. They not only propagate the belief and depth of knowledge but serve as an emblem of knowledge framework for the faculties (Hooks, 1994). It is their high morale to take a radical initiative towards evaluation opportunities. They form the appropriate source to evaluate the faculty education base, overall personality, communication skills, understandability, depth of subject knowledge and syllabus coverage. Such aspects would interpret the faculty evaluation like fairness in subject evaluation, biasness, ethics and others (Stewart, 2003).
The students who are at the receiving end are the best judge for the activity. 2. Head of the faculty and principal The departmental heads would evaluate dependent on the various employment criteria and their interpersonal behavior. The evaluation would be on the basis of the interest shown in socializing with them, understanding the spirit of togetherness, contribution in group activities, interest shown towards innovative programs arranged for students, participation in various faculty development programs, initiative towards various development strategies and programs and many others.
The departmental heads and principal is better placed as they directly organize and interface with the faculty on regular basis. They work together towards a goal and achieve results based on the interest level and success of the project. 3. Peers Peers are among those who interact on them on daily basis and interpret the skills with respect to assistance in research projects, collaborative organization of events and interest towards participation.
The various participation is clubs of the college and other informal groups are also taken into account. The peers are placed in a perfect position to know the faculty inside out. Their presence at the ground level makes them a better evaluator (Yagelsh, 2005). Their inside out knowledge not only provide them with better participation skills but helps immensely to create a better faculty and take handful initiatives for making the educational place truly noble. 4. Students parents:
The parents and guardians of the students also interact with the faculties and should also be asked to contribute in the evaluation process. Their interaction is not extensive but enables some form of impression that enables confidence that their wards are in better hands. A faculty evaluation system in place would not only promote the need to transform a personality noble but to also foster better relationship on long term basis. It arises the standard of the educational institute and cultivates rich methods for improving behavioral and communication skills.
The faculty system would keep strict discipline over the education levels and training facilities to meet the industrial standards. It largely infuses confidence and trust in the parents who invest on their wards to make them a better person in the near future. References/Bibliography Hooks, B.
