The Myers-Briggs test about the human personality is a personality inventory that tells people how they prefer to use their perception and judgment (Myers-Briggs Foundation). The test on humanmetrics. com reveals the preferences of people through a series of questions that can help people identify their lifestyles (humanmetrics. com). The type that I got was the combination of introverted, intuitive, thinking and judging (INTJ) and I think it is near to what I perceive myself as. One glaring trait of an INTJ is that they use their rationality as the most important factor in every decision, and in this case, I would have to agree.

I have always lived by the philosophy that everything can be explained by logic and rationality and I have applied it in my day-to day life and in everything that I do. Another thing that stood out in the results was that INTJs love ideas and to play around with them and apply them when they have fully understood the concepts. I would have to agree with this especially because I’m very selective with anything I learn. If I know I would be able to use the knowledge I’m receiving, I would find out everything I can about it and figure out how I can best use the knowledge I gained.

If not, I would not pay much attention to it and reserve brain space for whatever I think is more interesting or more beneficial. I also agree with the statement that I do not like to lead a group unless chaotic anarchy has taken over the group. Although I’m not quite sure if I’m a good leader as the typology suggests, but I do agree with the test’s result that I do always scan for available ideas and concepts and weighing them against the current situation. It is also true that I spend a lot of time in my own mind and I guess this is a function of my preference for being left alone.

Although I do not agree that I have little interest in other people’s thoughts or feelings. I think how people think about a certain topic are interesting and how they feel about something gives me an insight into what kind of people they are and if I would get along with them. In all, I think the Myers-Briggs test is a pretty accurate description about who I am, although, as most of these tests go, I often have exceptions to these rules of thumb and that I, as a person, am unique that way.
