Positive outlook
The difficulties of life are intended to make us better and stronger. I can say that my personal and academic experience gave me relevant lessons that I will carry all throughout my life. I am not threatened by struggles that I have met along the way and I will still continue living my life with a positive outlook. My name is (insert your name here) and I wish to study at (insert name of school here) with a degree in (insert name of course here). I was born in the United States but I was raised in Korea because my father accepted a job when I was younger and we need to relocate to the said country.
It was a difficult situation for me because I am not familiar with the school’s system. I went studying at a Korean school until my 7th grade with a lot of challenges regarding the new surroundings. I was able to meet a lot of new people and luckily I was able to make friends with them. After which I was transferred to a US military based school in Korea to continue my studies from 7th grade. Again, it gave me difficulties coping up with the new environment and new school system. I am fortunate to have professors who are supportive in giving me assistance on things that I barely know.
I also look for ways not to mind the problems at hand. I believe that it is better to focus on the solutions rather that the problems. This made me overcome the hardships of my school environment and continue studying with full enthusiasm. The third struggle that I had is when I return to US for my college education. It was a hard time for me because I am not with my parents and I need to take care of myself alone. I am also bothered by the fact that my mother got sick from 2003 to 2005. it gave me a lot of stress and almost made me lack my focus in studying.
I am really frustrated because my GPA during my 1st and 2nd year is low. But then I persevere and manage to finish my studies the best that I could. My personal and professional experiences made me determine to pursue this degree. I work with community services and was able to work in a law office as an intern for 3 months. I am a sociable person and I enjoy dealing with people from all walks of life. I wanted to live a life worthy of service to other people because this defines me as a person. I am determined to succeed in life and I am wiling to take the risk to surpass all challenges that lies ahead.
I have so many dreams and aspirations in life that is why I always tell myself that I can get through the bad times as long as I believe in my capabilities. Once I manage to survive the test, I become much stronger and much better than before. I also remind myself that no matter how rough the road is, the way ahead will be much smoother. The three aforementioned struggles that I had been a short filled experience but a really meaningful one. I was able to survive the journey of education without knowing much about life but I then became someone who knows what needs to be appreciated.
I learned how to value myself even more and set goals for myself. I realized how to value my family, my friends and my professors. I also believe that adjusting to the school’s environment as well as the school system is a difficult task but can be handled by a persistent student. I am glad that I was able to surpass the hardship of education rather than stay out of school and taste the bitterness of ignorance. I am also endowed by the fact that one of the most powerful weapons in this world that a person could possess is knowledge.
I am a big fan of people who are blessed with enormous knowledge and I believe having this degree will make me one of them. My passion to succeed in life is really intense. I am armed with self motivation and determination to continue the battle and learn no matter what it takes because it is knowledge that can make one a successful individual in the future. I look forward to my future with great anticipation. I know that the time has finally come for me to realize my dreams and make them all come true.
