How Egypt developed from Paleolithic culture to a dynamic civilization. From living as pastoralists, the Egyptians moved to the East towards the Nile valley because of the aridity that was spreading over the areas of grazing. Through this migration they started agriculture and through their higher levels of developments the changed to dynamic civilization 2. Manetho’s List Manetho compiled an Egyptian History titled Aegyptika. During this time he tried to describe the history of Egypt from its beginning to Alexander the great.
The most significant part of his work was that he came up with a list which formed the basis for most chronologies and conventions of naming used by historians. This he used in naming Egyptian Pharaohs and made innovations of dynamics hence fills the gap in Pharaonic rulers. 3. Egyptian Myth of Creation. This myth by the Egyptians tries to explain the creation of the Universe. In this myth, the Egyptians believed in polytheism. According to them they believed that every deity played an independent role in the creation of the world. 5. Differences between Ziggurats of Mesopotamia and the early pyramids
One of the differences between is that Pyramids were tombs while Ziggurats were temple towers. Another difference was that Ziggurats were built earlier in the Seleucid age while pyramids were built later in 1640 BCE. 6. The plan of the middle Kingdom Town 6 The town was square i. e. erected on a square ground. It had streets which ran though it in different directions. A long some of its streets were the mansions; one of which was in the highest point in the town. The plan of the town is said to be revealing the two social classes of people living in this town, (Kemp, 1989)
7. How Hatshepsut was portrayed as a female Pharaoh To become Pharaoh in Egypt, the man had to marry a female of the royal blood; usually the eldest daughter of the previous Pharaoh. When Hatshepsut was married by Pharaoh of their time, her husband died soon after their marriage. She then became the female Pharaoh and was considered the only female who ruled Egypt. 8. Faience Hippo Faience was a non-clay ceramic material that was glazed. Faience Hippo was therefore an example of faience making. How Akhenaten was portrayed in sculpture works The art that was used to present the sculpture showed Akhenaten, his wife and the royal princes giving offerings and worshipping Aten which was the sun disc. The sculpture works portrayed them as a sun disc showing radiating arms and hands were stretched downwards. 10. Contents of books of the dead This is a collection of writings placed in tombs by the ancient Egyptians. They were meant to guide the souls of those who died on their journey to life after death.
