Interpersonal relations, is an aspect of Personal development, health and physical education which is one of the six key learning areas in the K-6 primary schools curriculum. This aspect of human relationships, focus on developing the child’s interpersonal relationship skills which will ultimately help him or her to live a better and fruitful life. This is achieved by focusing on various students’ activities that can be of help to child.
Those activities will help the child develop a sense of respect for others and helps him develop skills and ability to cope or deal with pressure and also learn how to relate with the parents and other siblings. Analysis The curriculum of PDHPE is designed with the sole purpose of building children, which will be able to live a fruitful and healthy life. The child will learn to accept responsibility for personal and community health, enjoys the sense of belonging to the community, respect individual rights to uphold different values and attitude and also have the sense of worth and dignity.
This is usually taught to by using various activities that ensure effective participation of each student within a group. Section 2 Description This lecture describes the influence of game activities on child’s development. Game is an important part of PDHPE curriculum. It was included with the aim of teaching games for purpose of understanding and the sense of participating. The curriculum emphasize of teaching some type of modified games which poses some set of questions to the students instead of them to follow any sets of instructions.
The teaching is students centre and based on constructivist perspective of learning. Analyses Game plan in PDHPE enhances the feeling of well-being. The module entails using a good program that will focus on the syllabus content and outcomes, learning and teaching, assessment strategies that are link to the syllabus and also measure the outcomes. It also entails planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluating and reporting, all helping to change the syllabus into an effective program. Section 4 Description This aspect describes the proper integration of curriculum, and some level of manipulation that can be done to achieve excellent result. It describes the process of integrating the curriculum by considering the 8 strands of the syllabus and also the likely outcomes. There is an aspect that involve the integrating theory or practical tasks and the aspect that incorporate key skills or competencies. Challenges associated with the integrations are also evaluated. Integrating the curriculum into the students present and past experiences will improve the level of outcomes. This can help to conserve time and spaces, reduce overlaps, promote collaborative efforts between the teachers and reduces fragmentations that might be associated with the curriculums. This aspect of the syllabus focuses on recognizing factors that predisposes children to danger and response to unsafe situations that can put the child in danger. It also describe the aspect that encourage effective assistance when needed, and also establishment of interpersonal relationship that help strengthen attitude and values related to equity, respect for others, and responsibility. Analyses This helps the teacher to care for the every part of the child life such as self esteem, the body, changes, values, interpersonal relationship, health choices and safe living.
Section 6 Description This lecture focuses of the importance of good teaching as it applies to the PDHPE curriculum. It encourages a teacher to focus on the skills that makes a good teacher and how those skills can be applied to one’s teaching plan. It also compares and contrasts the terms good teaching, effective teaching and quality teaching. The lecture describe what quality teacher-pupil interaction is all about, effects of academic learning time on students, and all form of assessment of the PDHPE curriculum.
It also describe how to effectively teach children with special needs and the effect of gender, ethic and gymnastic on student learning ability. Analysis The lecture discusses the meaning of academic learning time and how it can be used to effectively use.
