I consider myself to be an excellent candidate for your Special Education teaching program for a number of reasons. Firstly, becoming a special education teacher has been a driving force and goal in each and every endeavor I have taken professionally and academically. Apart from completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, I am to complete my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology this May 2009. In both cases, I have been equipped in theoretical and applied knowledge in group facilitation, counseling and Adult education.

Dealing and facilitating children who are enrolled in special education classes require a number of specialized skills. I am very confident that I possess such specialized skills brought about my acquisition of theoretical and applied knowledge from my two degrees. Another reason why I believe I am an excellent candidate for your Special Education teaching program is because of my perseverance. Working with children enrolled in special education classes has been considered by many to be extremely challenging.

This is primarily due to fact that these children require special needs. Having a strong sense of perseverance as one of my strongest qualities would allow me to meet any challenges that may come my way once I have graduated and have begun establishing myself as a special education teacher for children. Through this personal strength, I firmly believe that I would not only become an effective special education teacher for children.

More importantly, I am also driven by a passion to improve the standards and quality of education of children. Through your Special Education teaching program and my passion to contribute in the uplifting of the education standards and level of teaching provided to children, I believe that I would be able to adequately help them become better equipped to meet the challenges they would meet in the later part of their academic life.
