Admission Essay
Good day everyone! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Sherin Assaf, a citizen of the United States for over nine years now. I am happily and contentedly married to a responsible, intelligent, and funny young man. We were blessed with three kids. Even if I am happy being a wife and a mother, there are still dreams that I have not given up for myself. I would also like to finish college and have a career of my own.
Currently, I am not employed; but to change this situation, however, I do attend school, taking night classes at the Mission College. I am determined to finish an accounting degree so that I will be better qualified to apply for a job that will help my family and I attain a better future. Furthermore, a degree will always serve as a fallback in cases where additional income is needed by the family.
In the future, with an accounting degree, I am confident to face the tasks and responsibilities of any job that I will be applying for, for instance, “accounting clerk; revenue agent; accounting technician; bookkeeper for accountant trainee accounts receivable, auditor for accounts payable; bank employee; examiner general ledger; certified public accountant; cost accountant; tax preparer; insurance employment; etc” (Mission College n. p. ). In addition to having my own part-time job, the degree that I am to accomplish will contribute largely to the business of my husband.
I will help him manage his business immediately after I graduate. When I am not attending to my part-time job, when I am finished with the household chores, and watching our children, all the rest of my time and effort will be devoted in assisting my husband in making his business grow. Event though it is a little difficult to study and at the same time accomplish all the chores at home and face the responsibilities of a mother and a wife, I will be patient in order to achieve my dream of finishing a degree and someday become employed and at the same time be of help to my husband’s business.
